Iyabo Adeola Olanrele

Iyabo Olanrele holds a Ph.D. in Energy Economics from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a Research Fellow at the Economics and Business Policy Department of the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research. Iyabo is also a Research Fellow at the Centre for Petroleum, Energy Economics, and Law (CPEEL), University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She has consulted for the Federal Government of Nigeria and its agencies, Partnership for Economic Policy, amongst others. Iyabo was one of the Technical Working Members that prepared the Macroeconomic Framework for the 2021-2025 Medium Term Nigerian Development Plan and the document. She is the coordinator of CPEEL’s Annual Energy Report & Outlook for Nigeria and was a Country-Lead Contributor for the 2020 Renewables 2021 Global Status Report. Iyabo participated in the 2020 Coimbra fellowship program and selected for the 2023 Agora-Energiewende EnerTracks fellowship program.
Her research interest includes Energy Economics (with a particular interest in oil and gas, energy policy, renewable energy, electricity economics, climate, and environment), Macroeconomics, Development Economics, and Econometrics Modelling. She has published in reputable journals, including Energy and Environment, OPEC Energy Review, CBN journal of Applied Statistics, International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, Journal of Infrastructure Development, Routledge, Springer, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability Issues, Journal of Critical Review, the proceedings of Nigerian and International Association for Energy Economics, amongst others. She is a member of the International Association of Energy Economics and the CliEEN modeling network.
