Impact of State Budget Implementations (2010-2020) on Livelihoods:  What the Citizens are saying.

This Policy Brief draws from a NISER Study on Budget Trend and Livelihoods in Selected States of Nigeria.

State governments’ budget performance is often indicative of the government’s capacity to deliver public services, and chronic deviations often trigger macroeconomic instability and social welfare deficits. While under-implementation of budgets creates gaps in service delivery, over-implementation results in budget deficits and increases in public debts.

This brief presents the findings of a technical report that examined the effects of the budget trend on livelihoods using citizens’ perceptions in selected states in Nigeria.
