JANUARY 2024 – Internal Training for NISER Non-Research Staff

From January 29th to February 2nd, 2024, NISER hosted an internal training for non-research staff. The training was on Basic Computer Skills and Office Management.
 
The objectives of the training were to:
 
  • Familiarise participants with basic computer hardware components, software, and terminology.
  • Develop participants’ proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Enable participants to effectively browse the internet and utilise online resources.
  • Enhance participants’ knowledge of computer security, data protection, and best practices for online safety.
  • Build participants’ confidence and overall computer literacy, enabling them to perform their job responsibilities more efficiently.
A total of 78 non-research staff participated in the training (58 from the Headquarters and 20 from the outstation offices). The resource persons were Mr. Matthew Olagunju, Mr. Seun Adeyemi, Dr. Audu Wadinga and Mr. Kayode Adetoro.
The NISER Director-General, Prof. A.T. Simbine, observed the training twice and also presented certificates to the participants at the Closing Ceremony of the Training Programme.
