Cecy Edijala Balogun

Cecy Edijala Balogun is a Research Fellow in the Social Policy Department, Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research, Ibadan, Nigeria. She holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development and is currently enrolled for her Ph.D. in Rural Sociology at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She is the author of several book chapters, including Coropoverty (In: Multidisciplinary Explorations of Corohysteria Caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, Abdul Karim Bangura (ed), Coromedia (Ibid), Gender and Sexuality Perspective (In: Black Lives VS. All Lives Matter, Abdul Karim Bangura (ed), Women Studies (In: Great Books Written by Africans Across the Academic Disciplines (In: Emmanuel, D. Babatunde and Abdul Karim Bangura (eds). She is a prestigious scholar of the CODESRIA College of Mentors and Mentees (2019), a laureate of the CODESRIA Gender Institute (2021), and also a laurate of the CODESRIA Governance Institute (2021). She is also a fellow of Writing and Researching the Political Economy of Inequality in Africa (WARIA) (2021), sponsored by the British Academy, and a fellow of Ife Summer Institute (2021). Her research interests span public policy, rural sociology, livelihoods, and women and youth development studies.
